Undergrad: Husson University in Bangor, ME

Vet School: University of Minnesota, St. Paul 

Internship: Arizona Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Center in Gilbert, Arizona. Dr. Capen worked there for an additional 2.5 years after her internship ended, helping to treat critical cases and teach upcoming interns. 

Dr. Capen is currently enrolled in the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners Immerse Program, an accelerated track to ABVP board-certification.

Professional Areas of Interest: Critical patients; sepsis, post-op management and respiratory cases. 

Personal Pets/Hobbies: Dr. Capen has two dogs, both Pitty/Hound mixes that are about 45lbs and look like they should be from the same litter but opposite personalities, and one cat. Her spouse is also a veterinarian currently enrolled in a dental residency program. Dr. Capen enjoys hiking and water activities, travel, Harry Potter (especially Harry Potter legos), and a good rainy day that you can stay in, relax and watch Netflix.
